Benefits for children

  • Child Care Fee Subsidy

Get help to pay for the care of your child under 13 years old.

Eligibility is based on an income test and the cost of childcare in your region. For example, if a parent in Toronto has a family income of $40,000 and the daily rate for child care is $89.23 for an infant, then the child care fee subsidy is estimated to be $81.57/day. Fee subsidy depends on the availability of subsidy funds and space within child care programs.

As the Canada-Wide Early Learning Child Care System (CWELCC) is implemented in Ontario, the fee subsidy model will continue to be an option for families who require financial assistance.

Note: parents of children under 18 years of age with special needs who are currently in child care may be eligible for fee subsidies.
